Private Branch Exchange (PBX) is a private voice-communications-capable switching facility located in an end-user organizaton’s premises which provides on-premises connection between terminals connected to it, including dial service, and may provide connections to between those terminals and other communications networks, including the Publicly Switched Telephone Network.
